Kingmakers is definitely among the titles whose premise automatically had us interested in seeing what it was all about. Going back in time to fight historic battles with modern weaponry isn’t something you get to do every day.
Well, we’ve been given a closer look at the game’s chaotic battles in action, and it’s every bit as entertaining as we’d hoped. You get a good look at an amusing conversation between two people from different eras while the battles seem to challenge even troops with a marked technological advantage. With “tens of thousands” of soldiers on the field and the “fidelity of a AAA shooter”, things look to be realistic and immersive when this finally makes its way into our hands. Of course, bringing your friends along is the icing on the medieval cake.
We’re particularly interested in the excellent blend between a shooter and a real-time strategy title, as well as in using modern vehicles to cause all sorts of chaos on the battlefield. We can’t wait to dive into this one, and we’ve left the showcase below for you to see why.
Kingmakers doesn’t have a release date yet, even after its nearly year-long delay, but you can request access to a playtest on Steam. Stay tuned for further updates in the meantime.
