Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is getting a playable demo that’s slated to become available on October 1, which should give you enough time to play through the chunk of the game ahead of its full release (with save data carrying over).
It’s definitely welcome too, as Rose Belmont, daughter of fan favorite Trevor Belmont, joins her father on the streets of Paris to investigate a monster outbreak. Naturally, this turns into something far more sinister. You know, the quintessential Castlevania kind of story. The Vampire Killer is part of the story (how could it not be with two Belmonts in the picture?), but you can expect other weapons to enter the mix in a gameplay loop that’s looking quite challenging.
Belmont’s Curse is shaping up to be very interesting, though, with a fresh but familiar combat system and some interesting takes on certain faces helping it stand out from past entries. Of course, the new platforming, Metroidvania-adjacent gameplay loop, and that distinctive art style are equally important parts of its allure, and we’re guessing it will come together quite well.
That demo should be a great opportunity to vindicate that sentiment ahead of its October 15th launch, so keep an eye out for its release next week.
