Embark Studios debuted its first look at ARC Raiders’ biggest update yet, Frozen Trail. At over 14 minutes, it highlights all of the new content, including the new map, Pendola Pass. Check it out below.
A much colder environment, the map includes a town square, supermarket, a train depot and an observatory where the Exodus Project was carried out. Perhaps more appealing, however, is that an Emperor, among the largest ARC threats, has gone down. What lies within? That’s for you to investigate.
Of course, it won’t be easy. Three new ARC threats await: the Bully, which excels at closing distance; the Skulker, favoring hit-and-run tactics; and the Hydra, a three-fold enemy you’ll find in the Frigate. The latter is a massive vessel full of smaller ARCs to battle that multiple Raiders can board. It’s highly dangerous but also very rewarding.
Other notable additions include the Outpost, an extension of the Raider Den that can customized with furniture; Amplified Weapons to unlock a fifth level for several guns, thanks to the new Research Workstation; and two new weapons: the Stiletto battle rifle and Bantam revolver. You also get new tools like the Grappling Hook, Tether Launcher, and Yank Grenade.
It’s a lot of content to look forward to, though time will tell whether it sustains player interest over six months. Frozen Trail goes live on October 8th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
