Capcom has released a new update for Street Fighter 6, finally bringing in Arjun as the fighting game’s latest roster addition. The company has celebrated this release with a brand-new trailer that showcases some of the new update’s content and the fighter’s capabilities. Check out the trailer below.
Along with the character itself, players will also get access to Arjun’s story in Arcade mode and the ability to take him on and earn new rewards in Battle Tour and Avatar Arcade. The update also brings in C. Viper’s Outfit 4, which features the fighter in an elegant swimsuit.
For a deeper look at Arjun’s moveset, take a look at the trailer that Capcom released in September, which showcased many of his various normal, special, and Super Art moves. The trailer gave us a look at Arjun taking on fellow Indian-origin fighter Dhalsim as he used his arsenal of moves that combine strike-based combos with his sheer strength and speed.
While Dhalsim’s moveset largely revolved around this mastery of yoga, giving him the ability to breathe fire and stretch his limbs to incredible lengths, Arjun’s moves revolve more around his breathing techniques, which can boost his regular attacks. He can even create a ring of air that he breathes out, which can then be followed up by moves like Breathing Shockwave that sends the ring forwards as a projectile.
When it comes to his Super Arts, Arjun has three to choose from – a quick combo that uses his breathing technique, a level 2 dubbed Instant Oblivion that can send his opponent flying away into a Divine Pillar, and a level 3, dubbed Yaksha’s Order, which has him disrupt his foe’s inner ear balance before he goes into a massive cinematic attack that serves to deal damage and disorient the opponent.
At launch, Arjun has two outfits available – a default one that showcases his state as a fugitive on the run, and a second one that represents an idealized version of Arjun that has finally achieved the justice he was chasing after, allowing him to grow as a person.
Following Arjun, Street Fighter 6 is slated to get two more characters as part of its ongoing Character Pass – Tifa Lockhart and Bosch. While Capcom hasn’t yet confirmed precise release dates, the two roster additions are slated to arrive in Early and Spring 2027, respectively. In story terms, Bosch shows up in Street Fighter 6 to seek training under Luke so that he can incorporate modern techniques into his ancient martial arts style.
While Tifa’s story in Street Fighter 6 hasn’t yet been revealed, Capcom has confirmed that she will use the same Zangan-ryu martial arts style that we have previously seen her use in Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth.
Street Fighter 6 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The title has been an incredible success, selling more than 7 million copies as of June. Before Arjun, the fighting game added Yasmine to the roster. Check out her gameplay trailer for more details.
