Vertigo Games’ remake of Arizona Sunshine, which translates the horror into a non-VR format for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, is out on January 21st, 2027. Check out the announcement trailer below.
It will have two editions: Standard, which costs $24.99 and includes the base game, and Deluxe for $29.99. The latter includes the Neon Wastelander and Fred’s Fashion Packs, and the Legacy DLC, which includes the original campaign and its additional content. The latter won’t be available at launch, so stay tuned for details about its release date.
Pre-orders get 48 hours of early access to the title and the Desert Raiders Pack, which offers skins for Sunny and Buddy, the protagonist and his canine companion.
So what sets the remake apart from the original besides not needing VR hardware? For starters, it’s in third-person and built off Arizona Sunshine 2’s gameplay, which means plenty of brutal undead slaying. It also supports co-op, a first for the franchise, as another player takes control of Buddy. Best of all, you can play split-screen and online co-op while attempting to survive together.
But with how enthusiastic Buddy seems even while solo, Arizona Sunshine remake could make for some mindless fun. Stay tuned for more details en route to launch.
