Just when you thought the month would end without a notable event, Nintendo has announced the next Indie World Showcase for October 28th. Airing at 7 AM PT, it will feature “roughly” 15 minutes on upcoming indie titles for Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, including updates on previously announced releases.
The last Indie World Showcase took place in March, featuring a litany of titles, including DrinkBox Studios’ Blighted, Dogubomb’s Blue Prince, Fireshine Games’ Denshattack!, Beethoven and Dinosaur’s Mixtape, and even Moonhood’s The Midnight Walk. It seems a given that several ports will be announced. The real question is whether any new titles will debut.
With indie games like Grave Seasons, Cassette Beasts 2002, Gravity Circuit 2 and more coming next year, we could see more than a few at the showcase. Of course, the announcement didn’t specify whether we’d see a bunch of 2027 titles, and given Nintendo’s propensity to shadow-drop games, there may be a few surprises in store.
Maybe Witchbrook will finally launch or at least get a release date. The same goes for The Eternal Life of Goldman, which feels like it’s been targeting 2026 for the longest time. As always, stay tuned for live coverage and all the details on tomorrow’s announcements.
