It looks like Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 is taking that claim about its single-player content quite seriously. A new Battlefield Report showcases the game’s Last Stand horde survival mode, where the Marines look hard-pressed to fend off a brutal assault by the combined Ork and Necron forces.
Of course, it’s accompanied by developer commentary, who tell us you probably won’t survive for long in your first attempts. However, this one’s about taking the loss on the chin and coming back stronger until you become so powerful that no army can withstand your might. There are twenty waves in total, which should tell you just how hard you’ll have to fight to snatch a victory.
That sounds like several hours of RTS bliss, thanks to how well this one seems to be designed. Factor in that staggering number of campaign missions, and you’re looking at a title that could take over your life without you even realizing you’re thinking about it when you’re not in front of your PC. That’s definitely something to look forward to.
The video is below if you want to hype yourself up for the game ahead of its December 3 launch for PC. You can also check out the post-launch roadmap here.
