E3 2012: New David Cage game announced, Beyond: Two Souls

Sony started off their E3 press conference- well, after a multiple minute long montage, that is- with the announcement of Beyond, David Cage’s new game that stars a new protagonist, Jody Holmes, who learns of life after death.

The theme of life after death is in fact the central concept of the game. David Cage promised more information for the game in the coming months, but he left us with one important tidbit for now: Jodie Holmes is played by Academy Award nominated actress Ellen Page.

The game seems to be focusing a lot on supernatural elements, and Jody is obviously possessed with a “presence” who she keeps talking to. It’s called Ivan or something. This also gives her supernatural powers.

The game’s visuals are excellent, and the animations, facial capture and voice acting look top notch too. Have a look at the gameplay and trailer below:
