QuakeCon and AT&T unite again for the greater gaming good

id Software and Bethesda have today announced that for the second year in a row, AT&T are returning for as an official sponsor of QuakeCon 2012. QuakeCon is North America’s largest bring-your-own-computerLAN party and all-round gaming festival.

AT&T’s powerful network and U-verse high-speed internet will provide immense bandwidth speed and sublime connectivity, bringing together thousands of gamers for an truly unparalleled gaming experience.

As well as providing an excellent  gaming experience, AT&T also help open up the event to gamers worldwide by providing the opportunity for live and on-demand video streams.

Todd Hollenshead, president of id Software said: “AT&T was invaluable for us at QuakeCon 2011 thanks to the speed and accessibility their network resources bring to QuakeCon attendees and fans watching from home,

“Their dedication and enthusiasm for the event is great, and we couldn’t be happier to join forces again to make QuakeCon 2012 the best, most connected QuakeCon yet.”

Woody Berner, director of U-verse product development at AT&T added: “We’re looking forward to keeping thousands of BYOC attendees connected at QuakeCon with U-verse High Speed Internet,

QuakeCon 2012 returns to Dallas, Texas from 2-5 August and admission is free, thanks to the continued support of Bethesda and id , as well as the numerous QuakeCon volunteers and conference sponsors.

QuakeCon will open at 9:00am and will remain open until 12:00pm on Sunday, August 5.
