Focus Home Interactive and developers Asobo Studio have confirmed that their upcoming narrative driven action adventure title, A Plague Tale: Innocence will support 4K resolutions on both, the PS4 and the Xbox One X (and PC, of course, through Nvidia Ansel).

New screenshots have been released as well, which show the game running in 4K. You can see the screens below to get an idea of what the resolution brings to the game, helping to emphasize the grimy feel of the aesthetic- but does offer a bit of a brighter spot with a delightful screenshot of what appears to be a dawning day.

We recently got a look at the gameplay of A Plague Tale: Innocence, with 8 minutes of in game footage, which showed the bleak and unsettling nature of the game. Being set in 14th century Europe, the game follows two siblings as they struggle against the backdrop of the Black Death and the Hundred Years War, both of which brought untold devastation to the continent.

A Plague Tale: Innocence will release May 14th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. If you’re curious about the game, we’ve got a list of things you should know about the title.
