We will be seeing quite a lot of interesting releases from Activision this year, including the remastered versions of some IPs. The company filed its Form 10K today with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and we’ve been able to learn some interesting information regarding the company’s plan for this year.
Along with new titles to existing franchises and content updates for titles such as Overwatch and Destiny 2, the company also plans to release some remastered versions of games and some new mobile titles. Their statement reads as follows, “We expect to release World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth and our latest Call of Duty game in the second half of 2018. In addition, we expect to deliver ongoing content for our various franchises, including expansion packs for Hearthstone and Destiny 2 , in-game events for Overwatch , and map packs for Call of Duty: WWII , as well as releases of remastered versions of titles from our library of IP.”
Additionally, they also stated that they will invest in “new opportunities” including games on multiple platforms along with focusing on eSports. We’ll have to wait for some official information regarding what games the company is planning to remaster throughout this year. Some possible candidates are games from the Spyro franchise, or some other successful IP from the past. Either way, it seems that Activision have a lot of exciting new content planned for the year ahead.
