All New Video For SOMA Shows The ‘Upsilon Environment’

The Upsilon Environment is on display

A new video has been released for the sort of upcoming survival-horror game from Frictional Games. I say “sort of upcoming” because even though the game has been fully in development since 2010, the prospective release date for the title, which will release across PS4, Windows, Mac, and Linux, is as far away as 2015.

This most recent trailer, dubbed the “Upsilon Environment” trailer, features a look at what we can hope to see in terms of the game’s environment. All of the footage in the trailer comes from actual gameplay footage, and yet it still holds up like a cinematic. This is very promising for SOMA.

Though everything we can see is pretty dark in the video, it definitely gives a feel for what playing the game will be like. You’ll squint your eyes to try and see thorough the shadows, the darkness will play tricks on you, lights will pop on and off… Pretty much everything one would be looking for in a survival horror game.
