DISC READ ERRORS
Though console manufacturers have become much better at their jobs and usually ship out systems that don’t come with a lot of major faults, such was not always the case. Last generation, we had the Xbox 360’s RROD, and the generation before that, many people were troubled by the PS2’s disc read errors. These errors often also not only damaged save files, but also destroyed the data on the discs themselves. The problem became so widespread that Sony ultimately ended up offering free repairs, free games, and even $25 cheques.
