SLIMLINE MODELS
About a decade ago, and in all the years prior to that, most of the times when a company put out a hardware model for their console, that was it. Other than minor corrections or stuff along those lines, the nature and look of the hardware was set in stone, unlike now, where we get new SKUs and hardware refreshes so often. With the PS2, however, Sony launched a slimmer and sleeker model back in 2004, which went on to become the standard model of the console, and was also, in many ways, a trend setter for many consoles that followed in its footsteps.
