Much like almost everything to do with the console, the PS2’s colour scheme of a black console and its blue logo have become iconic over the years- and Sony apparently chose these colours for very specific reasons. The blue colour of the logo was meant to represent the Earth, while the black colour of the console itself encompassing it was meant to represent the vastness and blackness of space.
