Mario’s name used to be Jumpman/ Mr. Video

Yes before he was Mario, he used to be known as Jumpman. Granted that the name is not as catchy, but you have to give the developer credit for trying. The developer must have taken inspiration from names such as Pac-man, but Shigeru Miyamoto originally wanted to name the character Mr. Video. After a lot of debates and ideas thrown across the room, and an unpaid rent, Mario was born and the rest was history.
