AMD has announced the intention to go ahead and launch the AMD Raedon R9 380X, which is a full fledged Tonga, ahead of the holiday season for the killer price of just $229- for the kind of performance that you will be getting, and considering the price of the competition, this makes this card a steal as far as value is concerned. Given that AMD is finally getting its act together as far as its drivers go, too, the general stigma and caution that surrounds an AMD card purchase shouldn’t hold you back as much.

The card comes with 4GB of on board memory, and has a power draw of 190 watts. According to Tom’s Hardware, it is “neither a revolution nor a real evolution… call it a mini-evolution. AMD does manage to position its card right between Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 960 and 970. You might argue that AMD’s Radeon R9 380 was already there, but its performance tends more toward the bottom of Nvidia’s two offerings.”

So if you are on a budget, but still wouldn’t like your PC gaming experience to be too constrained, this card might be the thing for you.
