Frictional Games has released a new trailer for its upcoming horror game Amnesia: The Bunker. The tiny trailer, clocking in at around 23 seconds, gives us a brief look at what Amnesia: The Bunker will look like. It also shows us that, unlike previous games in the Amnesia franchise, it will allow players to use guns in some way.

According to the trailer’s description, the short clip is meant to be a way to highlight the freedom Amnesia: The Bunker will allow its players by showing off one of the ways a player can go about opening locked doors throughout the game.

Announced earlier this month, Amnesia: The Bunker is set to be a departure from the horror franchise’s roots. The game has been described by the studio as a semi-open world experience. It is also set to focus more on emergent gameplay mechanics rather than the tightly-scripted horror set pieces of the franchise.

Amnesia: The Bunker puts players in the shoes of an amnesiac French soldier who finds himself in an abandoned World War 1-era bunker. The bunker is set to be freely explorable, and will feature “hardly any scripted events”. The game will, however, have players avoid an ever-present threat in the form of a stalker that has been described by Frictional Games as an “otherworldly creature”.

Amnesia: The Bunker is slated for release in March 2023, and will be coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
