Animal Crossing

Of the mobile games that Nintendo has released thus far, Animal Crossing appears to be the most mysterious. New information on the iOS/Android title will finally be coming though – the next Nintendo Direct will focus on Animal Crossing when it airs on October 24th, 8 AM PT/October 25th, 4 AM BST. The overall broadcast will last 15 minutes as per the Japanese Nintendo Twitter.

The jury’s out on what will be revealed but don’t expect any news on upcoming Animal Crossing titles for the Nintendo 3DS or Switch. Animal Crossing is slated to release for mobile sometime this fiscal year, which means it’ll be out before March 31st 2018.

The delay was due to other titles like Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes hogging the spotlight, the latter being fairly successful in the free to play mobile space. Both were produced produced in collaboration with DeNA. Since Fire Emblem Heroes arrived in February 2017, perhaps the upcoming Direct will date Animal Crossing mobile for later this year? Here’s hoping.
