Nintendo has seen a successful year thanks in no small part to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Released in March 2020, the Switch exclusive has sold 26.04 million units as of November. That number should continue to rise especially with the holidays around the corner.
Speaking of which, Nintendo Japan has a new trailer which celebrates the year’s events and provides a brief tease of Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Check it out below. Christmas is celebrated via Toy Day on December 24th with players purchasing toys and working with Jingle to deliver presents to everyone. As for New Year’s Eve, there will be a countdown on December 31st for all players.
Of course, this isn’t the end of free updates for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Nintendo has already confirmed the next update for late January in 2021 so stay tuned for more details. In the meantime, check out our review of the base game here.
