EA and Bioware’s Anthem hits next year, and one of the big things it is offering is the Javelin suits, mech suits like contraptions that give your character the ability to hover and fly. While a lot about the Javelins is currently unknown in terms of mechanics, EA and Bioware have been pretty forthcoming with information about how customization for them might be handled.
Here’s another tidbit of information regarding their aesthetics: the Javelins will be the same size for male and female characters alike. So, no more dainty and petite suits for females, or ridiculously buff ones for males, both of which serve to reinforce specific body images to the exclusion of all others- everyone plays on the same field. This also means you don’t have to pick a gender to play as simply because you like their Javelin suit design better.
Anthem is going to be launching on February 22 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
