Antique Carnevale Announced by Square Enix, First Trailer Introduces Bernard

Dolls and labyrinths are apparently a thing.

Square Enix has an intriguing new JRPG coming out called Antique Carnevale. As strange as the name sounds, the premise is even stranger. The official Japanese website is live and seems to indicate a story where people travel to a labyrinth, lose all free will and become dolls. In the first character trailer, we learn more about a dashing knight named Bernard.

Bernard has a Wyvern that can be used in battle and as per the website, he’s ordered by the president to find “the strongest masters of the next generation.” The reason why isn’t given unfortunately. However, it seems that more trailers for characters will be going live on July 7th, 10th, 12th and 14th so we’ll learn more about the story in the days to come.

Antique Carnevale naturally doesn’t have a release date nor confirmed platforms. Stay tuned for more information in the meantime and let us know what you think of the first trailer in the comments below.
