It seems that EA and Respawn Entertainment are going to be all-in on their battle royale shooter, Apex Legends. Not only is the game one of the reasons Battlefield will take a year off, it seems it’s going to start the year with a big tournament for some big cash prizes for elite players who manage to make the cut.

EA announced the Global Tournament Series, which will begin next month. It will feature a mixture of online and live events that operates on a point-based system that will decide who will get invited to four different majors. As of now, it seems it’s only referenced for being for PC players, with them getting Global Series Points, leading to 100 three-player squads duking it out to eventually get a big cash prize and title of Global Series Champions.

Apex Legends is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The first Global Series event will begin on PC January 25th.
