Well, that was unexpected.

Apex Legends seems to have proven itself as a pretty strong contender in the battle royale shooter game. It’s been updated on a continuous basis, and the latest season, the fourth one titled Assimilation, is coming soon. It includes new weapons, map changes, as well as a new Legend. But, in a twist, it may not be the Legend we thought.

Originally, the season’s Legend was announced to be a character named Forge. He was a brawler type with robotic arms for all kinds of smashing. In an animated short, however, Forge is killed by another character. His death is reflected on the official website as well with an “RIP” listing.

It’s not clear what’s going on here, but it could be that this assassin is the actual new Legend. People have datamined information for a “Revenant” that many actually expected to be the Legend for this season, so most likely this is him. As of now, nothing officially has been announced regarding the character, but at the very least, Forge seems to have not lasted too long.
