Some compromises on bringing the battle royale title to Nintendo's hybrid.

Apex Legends - Fuse

Apex Legends originally launched over 2 years ago and has been going strong ever since then. Now the game is set to come to a brand new platform in Nintendo’s hybrid system, the Switch. We got a trailer that served as a first look at the game running on the device, and it wasn’t too shabby, but now we know a bit more on the technical side of things.

Panic Button, who is handling the Switch port, Technical Director Andy Boggs spoke with Japanese magazine Famitsu about this version. When asked about the resolution and framerate, he said the game aims to run 720p while docked, with an aim of 576p in portable mode. Regardless of how you play it, the target is 30 FPS (thanks to NintendoEverything for translations on that).

It’s obviously quite a large compromise, but that’s the price of potential portability. Apex Legends is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The Switch version will launch on March 9th.
