Solos mode is now live in Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends along with the new Iron Crown Collection. The latter offers 24 new Legendary and Epic items across a variety of characters while introducing a new currency called Crowns. It’s available until August 27th along with Solos mode.

Crowns can be spent in the Iron Crown Event Shop and earned through special challenges. While two Iron Crown packs can be earned by completing 20 daily challenges or dealing 25,000 damage, you’ll have to buy them for 700 Apex Coins a piece. Even stranger is that each pack will three items but two are guaranteed to be Crowns so you’re pretty much rolling the dice on getting one new cosmetic.

As if that weren’t enough, you need to spend $35 or 3500 Apex Coins for the new Heirloom item “Raven’s Bite” for Bloodhound. It’s also only obtainable by acquiring the 24 other Iron Crown Collection items. Check out the trailer below to see how some of the cosmetics look along with one of the revamped map areas (complete with ramps and flaming rings).
