Embark Studios’ ARC Raiders has been making waves since its launch last week, at one point surpassing Battlefield 6 on Steam and recently nearing 463,000 peak concurrent players. Across all platforms, however, the developer revealed that it had over 700,000 concurrent players.
“The many different ways you play and participate in ARC Raiders have completely blown us away, going far beyond what we ever imagined. You surprise us, you outsmart us, and you keep us on our toes. We wouldn’t have it any other way,” said Embark on Twitter.
“The point being, you all push us to be better, and we’re truly grateful to have you along for this journey.”
While it’s yet to announce sales numbers, estimates claim 2.5 million sold in the first week alone (with Steam making up the lion’s share). It’s currently at the top of Steam’s global best-selling charts, surpassing titles like Counter-Strike 2 and Battlefield 6.
The extraction shooter also holds a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, with 89 percent of the 65,740 user reviews giving it a thumbs-up. Even critics are quite positive with an 84 Metascore based on 33 reviews.
