If it wasn’t enough for Embark’s ARC Raiders to top the final weekly sales chart on Steam before 2025 ended, it’s also reportedly setting a new record to start the new year. According to Alinea Analytics’ Rhys Elliott, the extraction shooter allegedly crossed over 12 million copies sold this past weekend.
Across Steam, Xbox Series X/S and PS5, it reportedly accrued more than $350 million in revenue while also hitting 3.2 million daily active users combined on January 4th. Steam is apparently the overwhelming majority of copies sold at 53.5 percent followed by PS5 at 25.5 percent and Xbox at 21 percent.
Interestingly, daily sales seemingly began to “stabilize” when December started, but Elliott noted that a “well-timed 20 percent discount across all platforms – and the holiday boost – reversed that.”
Embark hasn’t officially revealed updated sales beyond the four million plus sold within the first two weeks of launch. However, Alinea Analytics’ previous estimate was nearly seven million sold within a month of its release. Reportedly selling more than five million copies in that interim is simply insane.
Of course, it’s also in sharp contrast to Battlefield 6. Despite launching to much fanfare and seven million sold in its first three days, peak concurrent player counts have dropped sharply on Steam. Meanwhile, ARC Raiders still retains the majority of its players. In the last 24 hours at this time of writing, it peaked at 466,372 concurrent players on Steam – about 15,000 less than its all-time peak on November 16th.
With so many new players, maybe it’s worth playing nice and thinking before shooting – especially since aggression-based matchmaking is enabled.
