In what could a bright shining ray of hope for embattled studios fighting to stay alive in a brutal landscape for gaming, Embark Studios has revealed that the success of ARC Raiders has been just what it needs to continue doing what it does best in relative comfort.

The 2025 dystopian shooters’ immense popularity among gamers who can’t get enough of its gameplay loop has given the team at Embark “safety and long-term stability,” as per CEO Patrick Söderlund to IGN.

“We can live for a long time on the money that ARC Raiders has been generating, and that does give financial security and employment stability for the people that work there. We’re growing our studio, we’re hiring people, we want to build more of ARC Raiders, we want to build more of THE FINALS.”

How has the success of its latest title bolstered Embark’s plans for its two unannounced projects, as well as pushing new content to ARC Raiders, according to its 2026 roadmap? Söderlund enthusiastically pointed out how revenues from sales have enabled “competitive salaries” and bonuses for the studio’s existing workforce, while also supporting hiring efforts for the studio’s expansion.

“For us, it’s a sigh of relief, obviously, for any developer, and we’re incredibly happy for that and thankful for everyone that’s been supporting us by buying the game. It feels great. Obviously, hopefully, we can have competitive salaries, good bonuses for the people who have done all this hard work and deserve to be taken care of adequately.”

Although Söderlund didn’t elaborate on exactly how profitable the runaway hit has been for the studio, estimates suggest that those numbers could be high if the sales and probable budget for the game are viewed side by side.

With fixes to existing content and a whole lot of new and exciting additions to look forward to, ARC Raiders is off to a great start this year, and it looks to be the shot in the arm for Embark and Nexon’s plans for 2026 and beyond.
