Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is faithfully sticking to everything that made the original so memorable (well, almost everything). When it comes to the HUD, however, there are some sweeping changes. You can now more easily quick swap to pistols and the Hidden Blade, and it just looks much sleeker than the original.
Good news – that was the goal, as Ubisoft noted it to be “cleaner, more contextual, and, most importantly, fully customizable – similar to what was done on Assassin’s Creed Shadows.”
There are four HUD presets available from the outset: Default, Simple, Minimal and Disabled. Default keeps most elements, from combat feedback and button prompts to navigation, on the HUD. Simple will remove highlights and reminders, but you’ll still have all the cues necessary for combat and exploration.
Minimal will also showcase interaction prompts, your health and the Jackdaw’s cannon aiming arcs. And as you might have guessed, Disabled will turn off almost all elements “for a fully immersion‑focused experience.” Of course, the decision is up to you – enable whatever you like, right down to the VFX visibility and blood.
That includes removing elements like enemy health bars, attack indicators on enemies, the visibility meter, and even outlines while sneaking. It’s all in line to ensure an immersive experience for players.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launches on July 9th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Head here for all the latest details.
