Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Removes Memory Sync, Adds Wanted System

Cause havoc and raid camps but beware of mercenaries that will hunt you.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Assassin’s Creed games have typically relied on memory synchronization to curtail bloodthirsty player tendencies. If too many citizens were murdered, then the player would be “de-synchronized”. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is going for a different approach though.

As per GamesRadar, players can now rampage through various cities, killing citizens and raiding camps. However, there is a wanted system of sorts, similar to Grand Theft Auto, that keeps track of your activities. Patrols and mercenaries (showcased in the live gameplay reveal) will be out for blood though. You can still fight them though so it’s possible to take a mercenary out and get some sweet loot in the process.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey continues the action RPG focus of Assassin’s Creed Origins but now provides two playable characters – Kassandra and Alexios. Each has the same story but you can now influence how things play out through dialogue choices and consequences. The game is out on October 5th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
