Ubisoft has published a post on the official blog for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla celebrating the two years of content that has been released for the game, as well as detailing the final major update, which is set to hit the game on December 6 with Title Update 1.6.2.

Dubbed The Last Chapter, the final update will also act as an ending to Eivor’s story in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The update is being designed as an epilogue, and hopes to tie up some of the dangling plot threads fromm throughout the game and its various DLCs.

Once released, to access The Last Chapter, players need to have completed the main storyline by pledging to all territories of England, completed the mythical story arcs of Asgard and Jotunheim, upgraded the settlement to level 5 and construct the Jomsviking barracks, and have killed all targets for the Order of the Ancients and unveiled its leader.

Ubisoft has also revealed that it will no longer be running time-limited festival events in Ravensthorpe, owing to the game coming to the end of its life. For players that missed the festival events, all rewards from Yule, Ostara, Sigrblot, and Oskoreia will be available at all merchants once the quest The First Night of Samhain of the Glowecestrescire arc has been completed.

And finally, Ubisoft has also stated that New Game+ will not be coming to the game. Despite being a highly-requested feature, developers working on the game realised that the breadth and depth of the game meant that implementing New Game+ wasn’t possible. Another highly-anticipated feature—the ability for Eivor to have their hood on at all times—is coming to the game. This is a purely cosmetic option and doesn’t really affect gameplay in any real way.

The rest of the post largely acts as a retrospective on the release of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla back in 2020 and the studio reminiscing about the release of the game’s various DLCs and updates over the years.
