PlatinumGames hasn’t been releasing too much gameplay for its upcoming Switch hack and slash title Astral Chain. However, it released a new trailer at Nintendo’s E3 2019 Direct that featured all kinds of cool moments. A more extensive gameplay demo has since been showcased on Nintendo Treehouse: Live. Check it out below.

Astral Chain is set in the future city called Ark where aliens from another dimension are invading. After choosing between a male or female character (with the other appearing as their twin), players will make use of special Legions. The Legions are like familiars but heavily weaponized and can execute some stylish combos with the characters.

One of the more interesting gameplay aspects in Astral Chain is fighting one enemy with your character while the Legion battles other enemies. It’s also possible for you to play a support role to the Legion as it does most of the fighting. All in all, it’s pretty intriguing and we can’t wait to get our hands on Astral Chain when the game launches on August 30th for Nintendo Switch.
