Atomic Heart Aims to be “Around 20 Hours” Long, Has Some “Truly Insane Concepts”

Atomic Heart

Mundfish’s first person shooter/action RPG Atomic Heart has been in development for some time but finally seems to be releasing later this year. Set in alternate reality Soviet Union in 1955, it has players controlling a KGB agent named P-3 who infiltrates a government facility after it goes dark. Cue the robots who are all murderous and hostile.

Recent trailers have showcased a combination of gun play, abilities and melee combat that looks fairly enticing. GamingBolt recently spoke to the developer and regarding how long an average playthrough would be, it stated, “We’re aiming towards around 20 hours.” Keep in mind that this could include the story plus some side content as opposed to just the main route.

When asked about its approach to nailing the weird and cerebral aesthetic that the game has going, Mundfish said, “There are some truly insane concepts that we’ve put in the game – like the whole thing with polymers, Limbo, and the meta-plot of Atomic Heart. The weirdness is intentional, it was one of the creative pillars while we were creating the world, the enemies, and the characters.”

Atomic Heart is currently slated to release in the second half of 2022, sometime between September and December. It will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay in the coming months.
