Call of Duty Ghosts_Free Fall
Call of Duty: Ghosts just released a day ago and reviews are pouring in, while Battlefield 4 is a week old and going great guns in both the critical and commercial department. However, Avalanche Studios founder and creative director Christofer Sundberg, who has worked on Just Cause 2 and is currently developing Mad Max, believes that these two latest titles mark the “end of an era” in their respective franchises.

Sundberg believes that the Call of Duty franchise doesn’t have much of a future, while Battlefield will live on as a multiplayer only title. He also tweeted that he doesn’t believe there will be room for both unless they become drastically different from each other.

Considering that both games still rely on relegating the single-player campaign to the recycling plant and making multiplayer the star, do Sundberg’s statements have any weight? Let us know in the comments below what you think and stay tuned for our review of Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4 in the coming days.
