Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Leak Details Story, Weapons, Banshee Riding, and More – Rumour

A new leak has seemingly spilled the beans on Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft's long-in-development Avatar game.

Avatar - Frontiers of Pandora

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has received little to no updates since its announcement in 2021, and seeing as that announcement was a brief cinematic trailer, there’s a great deal about the game that we don’t know- like anything other than the fact that it’s going to be a first person open world title set on the planet of Pandora.

Now, however, several new details on its story and gameplay may have come to light, courtesy of a fresh leak. Known Ubisoft leaker @ScriptLeaksR6 – who recently also leaked the game’s pre-order details and a new gameplay screenshot – has shared potential details on the open world title’s story, weapons, traversal mechanics, open world, and more.

As per the leak, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will see players playing as a Na’vi who was abducted by the Resources Development Administration (or RDA) as a child and was “trained and moulded to serve their purpose”, but must now “reconnect with your ancient heritage and join other clans to protect Pandora”. The game will allegedly take place on the Western Continent, which is a “never-before-seen” continent on the planet, and will comprise of “beautiful yet unpredictable open world regions, where lowering your guard can lead to deadly mistakes”.

When it comes to combat, players will seemingly have access to a variety of weapons, both Na’vi and human, what with the protagonist having also received rigorous human training. Na’vi weapons will include the likes of a bow and a spear-thrower, while human weapons will be more of the conventional variety, like assault rifles and shotguns. Where progression mechanics are concern, players will apparently be customizing their character by crafting new gear and upgrading skills and weapons.

Beyond combat, players will be able to capture and bond with their own personal Banshee, which is what you’d hope to be able to do in a game based on Avatar. Banshees will be used not only for aerial combat, but allegedly also for long-distance travel across the open world.

These are all unconfirmed details, of course, but given how leaky the Ubisoft ship has been and continues to be for as long as anyone can remember, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them confirmed officially in the near future. Either way, until such time that happens, file this away as a rumour. A Ubisoft Forward showcase is scheduled for June 12 though, so we’re likely to learn more about the game not long from now anyway.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game is scheduled to launch sometime before April 2024.
