One Mass Effect storyline was scrapped for being too similar to Star Trek

I think many Mass Effect fans have compared Mass Effect and Star Trek for being alike. Heck one reviewer compared Mass Effect to being the Star Trek for this current generation, so it comes as no surprise that Mass Effect is almost similar to Star Trek in terms of space travel and lore. One designer in particular Preston Watamaniuk said that one such story was quite similar to Star Trek, and that fans would not be too happy with it. Watamaniuk has an encyclopedic knowledge of science fiction media.
