Mass Effect wasn’t originally called Mass Effect

We all know by now that games in development stage often have a code-name, until someone in the PR comes up with a better sounding name. But it’s hard to imagine now that Mass Effect was originally called SFX, which is short for “Science Fiction X. And the developers used that name for so long; everybody grew attached to it, and didn’t want to change it. But I’m so glad that they did change it, because SFX just sounds so lame.
