Grunt has no shields, armor instead. It receives no damage from the sun on Haestrom
We all know that Grunt is one tough son of a gun, and he comes very useful in a battle. However the effects of his toughness or rather his armors toughness comes into play when Shepard and his team reaches Haestrom. For the uninitiated, Haestrom was formerly a Quarian colony, due to decades and decades of war the planet’s protective shield was diminished and as such, a few seconds of radiation exposure will overload shields and hours of exposure will kill. Grunts armor is immune to the effect of radiation and receives no damage, much to the amazement of the player.
