Following its recent delay, Turtle Rock Studios shared some new gameplay for Back 4 Blood at the Future Games Showcase. Some of the footage will look familiar, including the Ogre that emerges to terrorize players, but the developer also showcases how the card system works. Check it out below.

When a level begins, the AI Director will play some Corruption Cards, which can provide effects like increased Bloaters, exploded Stinkers summoning the horde and so on. From there, cards from your own deck are doled out which can provide benefits. Maybe you’ll find improved weapons at some point or gain increased reload speed. It helps to tailor one’s strategy for each “run.”

Back 4 Blood is currently set to release on October 12th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. There will be an open beta for PC and consoles sometime this Summer. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
