Dismissing Us when they're a party member and then loading up "certain save games" will no longer remove the ability to Short Rest.

Baldur's Gate 3_04

Larian Studios has released a new hotfix for Baldur’s Gate 3, the 24th till now, not counting all of the patches. On top of fixing an issue with the previous hotfix that caused performance and frame rate drops on Mac, it addresses a bug preventing players from Short Rests.

It would occur if you added Us (an Intellect Devourer) as a party member and then dismissed them before loading “certain save games.” It should now be fixed, along with an issue where Us would suddenly appear at camp or other waypoints.

A crash that may occur after the transitioning cinematic that plays when going from Act 2 to 3 has also been fixed. Though not a big hotfix, Larian continues to work on the acclaimed RPG, with features like crossplay, mod support and more evil endings in development. An ETA for these has yet to be announced, so stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, and has sold almost 15 million copies. Despite its success, the development team is moving on to something new. Find out more here.
