Baldur’s Gate 3 received its first major patch recently which added more polish and bug fixes to in-game cinematics along with more combat tutorials. Unfortunately, many users reported not being able to load their saves despite the patch not explicitly wiping them. After investigating the issue, Larian Studios has decided to roll back the game to its previous build.

The developer noted on Twitter that it will redeploy the patch when the save is fixed. Players can continue playing from their previous saves when reverting back to the previous build without any extra steps being necessary. As always, we’ll need to wait for more details when the patch is good and ready.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently available in early access for PC and Google Stadia. It currently contains the first Act of the story with roughly 25 hours of gameplay. Sales thus far have been “insane” as per Larian CEO Swen Vincke and while the RPG is planned to be in early access for at least a year, the developer is committed to releasing it “when it’s ready.”
