Larian Studios recently confirmed that after over two years in early access, Baldur’s Gate 3 will be launching in full on August 31. At launch, the game will also be available for PS5, with technical issues related to splitscreen co-op holding back its Xbox Series X/S version. At the same time, the developer has also said that on PC, the RPG will be seeing some technical changes.

In a Steam post, Larian Studios has confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3’s minimum PC requirements are being increased. “Baldur’s Gate 3’s graphical fidelity and complexity has improved quite a bit as it’s grown throughout Early Access,” the developer writes. “We’ve been keeping an eye on its minimum system requirements, and as the game nears release we’ve raised the minimum system requirements listed on Steam to better reflect the realities of the launch version.”

As per the updated minimum requirements, players will now require either an i5 4690 or an FX 8350, and either a GTX 970 or an RX 480, along with 8 GB of RAM. While the minimum specs are fairly modest, recommended settings are much more demanding, with the game requiring either an i7 8700K or an R5 3600, along with either a 2060 Super or an RX 5700 XT, and 16 GB of RAM. On either setup, you’ll also require a whopping 150 GB of free storage space.

Larian says while players will be able to play the game on a rig that falls below the minimum requirements, that “may hinder the player experience”. You can check out the full requirements below.

Larian Studios has also revealed details on General Ketheric Thorm, one of the game’s three main antagonists, who will be voiced by J.K. Simmons. Meanwhile, the RPG’s Deluxe and Collector’s Editions have also been unveiled

Baldur’s Gate 3 launches on August 31 for PC, Mac, PS5. It will also feature support for cross-platform progression on all platforms.
