Battlefield 4 PC System Requirements Detailed: 30 GB Install Size, 8 GB of RAM and Windows 8 Recommended

This is SERIOUS.

BF4 1
DICE has finally revealed the PC requirements on Twitter for its upcoming Battlefield 4 – and brace yourselves, because this isn’t a game for lightweights.

The Recommended system requiremenets demand Windows 8 64-bit, an Intel quad-core CPU or AMD six-core CPU, 8 GB of RAM, an AMD Radeon HD 7870 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 with 3 GB of graphics memory and – no joke – 30 GB of hard drive space.

The Minimum system requirements are actually quite surprising considering that you’ll need Windows Vista SP2 32-bit, an AMD Athlon X2 2.8 GHz or Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, an AMD Radeon HD 3870 or Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT with 512 MB of grapics memory, but the 30 GB install size remains the same.

Considering that DICE is looking to take advantage of Direct X 11.1, which is exclusive to Windows 8, these conditions sort of make sense. But we won’t deny that this is the heaviest PC game yet. Battlefield 4 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on October 29th, while the PS4 and Xbox One versions land in November at each console’s respective launch.
