After so much speculation, we are almost at the point where we know what DICE plan to do with their bestselling Battlefield franchise next. The next game in the franchise, popularly referred to as Battlefield 5, is due to be unveiled later next week, on May 6- and anticipation for the reveal event is running high.

DICE themselves aren’t helping matters much, either. Speaking on Twitter, the official Battlefield event promised that fans will be blown away by what they see on Friday, and that they are pretty excited to take the wraps off of whatever it is that they have been working on for this long.

Personally, I am hoping DICE takes Battlefield back to its roots- I’m taking of a game set in the World War era, and one made more like the classic Battlefield games, or the Bad Company titles, than Battlefield 3 or Battlefield 4 were. But we’ll see what it is they have planned soon- they are a talented

studio, so they deserve the benefit of the doubt after all.
