Electronic Arts has already confirmed that the next Battlefield will be revealed in June (and is coming to PS4 and Xbox One). While a trailer meant for internal use has been making the rounds, there’s still the question of what DICE and EA could have planned for the game at EA Play Live. The answer seems to be an alpha announcement, according to insider Tom Henderson.

On Twitter, Henderson, who’s been sharing details on the title for some time now, said the alpha should start in July with an announcement at EA Play. “Could be a ‘Oh and the Battlefield Alpha is available to play right now’ type of deal at the end of the event.” Again, this wouldn’t be the first time that DICE has done something like this but it’s one reason for fans to tune in.

The tentatively titled Battlefield 6 will be releasing this holiday season and coming to Xbox One, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5. A Battlefield mobile is also in the works and will be releasing sometime in 2022 so it’s likely that EA will be providing more details on that as well. EA Play Live is set to take place on July 22nd so stay tuned for more details.
