Celebrating the first week since the release of Battlefield 6 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, Battlefield Studios has published a new community update talking about it plans to change some aspects of player progression, as well as the state of Portal servers. In the post, the developers noted that the pace of progression might have been to slow, and have thus announced some adjustments to the rate of XP that players can earn.

XP that players earn from general match completion, as well as the XP earned on a daily basis from the first match played are both being increased by 10 percent and 40 percent respectively. Along with this, the XP requirements for unlocking the first 20 attachment ranks are also being reduced. Assignments unlocked on career ranks 20, 23 and 26 will also be unlocked at lower levels – 10, 15 and 20 respectively.

As for community experiences through Portal, Battlefield Studios has noted that the title hit its maximum capacity for community servers thanks to a large number of servers popping up that revolved around earning XP and inflating player stats by defeating bots. To deal with this, the developers are working on adjustments that will lead to XP farming servers diminishing in number, while also ensuring that custom and verified experiences are surfaced to more players.

“It’s been an exciting first week for Battlefield 6, and we’re thrilled to have you with us as we embark on this journey together,” wrote Battlefield Studios in its community update post. “We’ve been closely listening to your feedback and wanted to take a moment to address some of the initial concerns on progression and community experiences that we’ve seen from players around the world.”

Along with this, Battlefield Studios has also confirmed that these changes are targeted to be made with updates slated to come out within the next week. While no confirmed date for the updates have been revealed, the post noted that the developers are working hard on these changes, and that we might see the updates come out even sooner depending on how well testing and verification goes.

As for other feedback that players have provided about things like weapon bloom, visibility and vehicles not spawning, Battlefield Studios plans on releasing more updates to address these issues as quickly as it can. In the meantime, the developers have noted that they are also preparing for the release of Season 1 later this month.

Electronic Arts also recently confirmed that Battlefield 6 has been a massive success in terms of sales figures. The company has estimated that more than 7 million copies of the game have been sold in the first three days of its release, making it the biggest launch in the Battlefield franchise’s history. Along with this, the company also noted that 172 million matches were played during the same weekend, and streaming platforms managed to accumulate 15 million hours in watch time for those streaming the multiplayer shooter.
