Rockstar Games and Grove Street Games’ latest release, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, has just launched, and players have already started unearthing rather interesting secrets exclusive to this version of the games. A report by Eurogamer has revealed that a cheat code for a Big Head mode is included in the game.
The code in question is the iconic Konami code – which in PlayStation terms translates to Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Circle, X. On Xbox, that’s Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, and on the Switch that’s Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right Left, Right, A, B.
Upon entering the code, the game’s protagonist will get a big bobbly head that’s equal parts funny and iconic in gaming history. Big Head cheat codes were pretty popular in the 90s, with the most iconic appearance perhaps being in Rare’s Goldeneye 007 which made scoring headshots in both the campaign and split-screen multiplayer a breezy task.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition has also been receiving its fair share of criticisms for a bunch of technical inefficiencies. The game’s PC version has now been removed from sale after players couldn’t log in for an extended period of time following launch. Grove Street Games promises that work on updates is underway, so hopefully fixes will be coming in soon.
