First announced in 2017, Experiment 101 and THQ Nordic’s upcoming open world RPG Biomutant has been making bold and ambitious claims about how it’s going to turn out for long time now. The fact that it’s been delayed one too many times has dampened some of the excitement surrounding its slippery launch though. Once due out in 2019, the game was pushed back from that date, and since then, neither the developer nor the publisher has given any concrete window for when to expect the game.
However, according to THQ Nordic CEO Klemens Kreuzer, Biomutant is not far away from launch. Speaking with GamesIndustry, Kreuzer called Biomutant “a release of great importance”, and said that it will be releasing this quarter, which would mean the game will launch some time before April 1. Given that short timeframe, one would assum that an announcement of a specific release date isn’t too far away.
Biomutant will launch for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and it will also be playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S– though whether that will be via backward compatibility or native versions hasn’t yet been confirmed. The game will have no microtransactions. You can check out nearly 10 minutes of gameplay footage through here.
