Bioshock Infinite “Beast of America” Gameplay Trailer Depicts Awesomisity

Stand tall, goddammit.

Irrational Games has released a new trailer, culled from the fan community, for their upcoming first person shooter-RPG hybrid Bioshock Infinite. The message is clear: Stand tall, for the beast cometh.

The patriotic fervour of old-school America gives a real “Gangs of New York” vibe even as Elizabeth is passing out firearms or you’re battling seemingly other-worldly entities bent on your ruination. The gameplay showcases a dual-handed style of play, where the left hand controls abilities and the right hand is used for weapons.

The part with your hands on fire as the skin melts away? Yeah, we don’t know about that one.

Of course, various two handed weapons also exist for combating Alphas and other genetic horrors. The story might be easy enough but when you’ve got gameplay that has you rappelling from one area to the next to combat baddies, the details don’t mean a goddamn thing.

Bioshock Infinite is due to release February 23rd 2013 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
